Mental health support for schools

Mental health support for schools

With a reported 1 in 5 children and young people* experiencing mental health issues in the UK, we’re stepping up to help schools make sure students are emotionally supported and able to reach their full potential.

Just ‘B’ covers a breadth of mental health concerns ranging from anxiety and grief to suicide and self-harm. Our expert team support people with their emotions in times of great need, as well as part of their everyday wellbeing. We collaborate with teachers, pastoral leads and school leaders to make a real and lasting difference.

Working across Yorkshire, we join in depth local knowledge of our surrounding communities with a breadth of experience and expertise. From Harrogate and Leeds, right up to Stokesley and Scarborough. We’ve worked closely to support people with a wide range of backgrounds and needs.

As an independent charity, all of our funds go back in to improving the lives of people locally and across the UK.  We’re committed to making sure no one faces struggles with their mental health or with bereavement alone.

If you have any questions, reach out to us at JustBCYP@justb.org.uk and we’ll be delighted to help you.

One to one support packages

Partner with Just ‘B’ to have a dedicated support worker come into your school and meet with students one to one.

The schools we currently support have fed back the difference having a member of Just ‘B’ alongside their school’s team has made, for both students and staff.

A parent's perspective

“Samantha, our school’s Just ‘B’ Support Worker, has got to know my daughter and understands that she is conscientious and wants to do well. This allows her to trust that she will be believed when she needs support. Samantha has eased a difficult transition back to school after 6 months and made it much more positive than it would have been. This has been an incredibly difficult time and Samantha’s help has had a huge impact on us as family.”

Consultancy

There’s no one size fits all when it comes to supporting young people with their mental health. Sometimes, asking a professional which approach to take or having a listening ear to offload can be extremely beneficial for you or your staff members.

We’re here for you of you’d like our guidance on a specific circumstance or issue.

Email justbcyp@justb.org.uk to chat to us.

Responsive support

In times of crisis such as a sudden death or road traffic collision, we step into immediate action and support schools and communities for free. We’ll be there for staff, and can help with assemblies or one to one support with space to express difficult emotions.
