Supported by David Skaith, Mayor of York and North Yorkshire and funded by York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority and North Yorkshire Hospice Care, the Just ‘B’ Male Project is an initiative to support the mental health of men and people identifying as male.
Struggles with mental health can have a significant impact on personal wellbeing. Reported figures for men facing anxiety, depression and other mental health concerns do not reflect the true picture, and suicide remains the leading cause of death for men under 50.
The Men’s Mental Health Investment Programme aims to:
– Reduce the demand in care services
– Improve sickness leave rates
– Support resilience in local economies by supporting mental health in men and masculine-identifying people
