Bereavement and grief are normal and natural responses to death and most people who experience it come through safely with the help of family and friends. But for some, who do not have a support network around them or experience more complicated grief, they may need professional support. Bottled up, these emotions can have damaging psychological, emotional and physical consequences for individuals, their families and society as a whole.
As well as 1-1 emotional wellbeing and bereavement support counselling, we offer information and advice for professionals. Our bereavement support service is suitable for people experiencing any type of bereavement, including suicide, road traffic accident or terminal illness.
Our bereavement support is available to clients in the Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire districts of North Yorkshire.
Our support is almost entirely community-funded and we rely on the generosity of grants, partners and those who access our services to continue providing our support.
We ask, if you feel able, for a suggested minimum donation of £20 per session for children, young people and adults accessing our bereavement support services, funding some of the costs involved in providing our support sessions.
This will help us to safeguard Just ‘B’ support for your community now, and in the future. It doesn’t include those accessing support through any funded services Just ‘B’ is providing.
100% of donations received as part of accessing this support will be invested in ongoing delivery of Just ‘B’ specialist services, ensuring those with bereavement and emotional wellbeing needs have access to the right support, at the right time, when they need it most.
Just ’B’ is not a crisis service. If you feel you are in crisis, please call the Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys (TEWV) NHS crisis services 24/7 using the single point of access telephone number: 0800 0516171.
