We’re here across Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire for children and young people who are bereaved. Young people may experience and express grief and bereavement in different ways. There is no ‘right way’.
Bereavement and grief are normal and natural responses to death and most people who experience it come through safely with the help of family and friends.
But for some, who do not have a support network around them or experience more complicated grief, they may need professional support.
Bottled up, these emotions can have damaging psychological, emotional and physical consequences for individuals, their families and society as a whole.
Our bereavement support service is suitable for people experiencing any type of bereavement, including suicide, road traffic accident or terminal illness.
We provide this support from our bases in Harrogate and Thirsk, as well as in the community, including in schools.
Ava, a young person Just ‘B’ is helping with bereavement support, tells how Just ‘B’ has helped with her grief – along with Just ‘B’ Children and Young People’s Support Worker Marion.
