Emotional wellbeing counselling for adults

SCROLL DOWN

We’re here for adults experiencing challenges such as anxiety, stress and depression as well as bereavement. Our caring and expert counsellors can help you work through how you’re feeling in a way that works for you.

We provide this counselling support from our bases in Harrogate (Burton House) and Thirsk (Herriot Hospice at the Lambert), as well as remotely.

Help if you’re in crisis

Just ‘B’ is not a crisis service, but if you need to speak to someone in the event of a mental health crisis, call NHS 111 and choose option 2.

Accessing our counselling

You can access our emotional wellbeing support by referring yourself, or if a health professional refers you on your behalf.

Our charges for adult emotional wellbeing counselling

We charge £30 per session for adults accessing counselling to ensure this support can help people now and in the future.

Just ‘B’ receives no government funding. We rely on donations, grants and working together with other organisations, schools and partners to provide our services.

To make sure this charge remains accessible and in line with our values and mission, we’ve taken the decision to cap and subsidise at £30 per session. Your options for paying this charge will be communicated to you as part of your referral.

Our counselling team

Our charity’s values lead us to put people first, work professionally and be accountable. To give you high quality support, we carefully select and monitor our volunteers and trainees, and have a dedicated Volunteer and Trainee Counsellor Lead guiding our team.

Our counsellors are fully vetted with a police check, insured, and members of the BACP (or equivalent).

Our staff and volunteer counsellors are all qualified to Diploma/Degree level, while all of our trainee counsellors are working towards their Diploma.

Working in partnership

Just ‘B’ works in partnership to provide a range of tailored services which are funded.

This includes support for those bereaved by suicide in the Harrogate district, Hambleton, Richmondshire and areas of Scarborough.
