Bereavement and mental health training for schools and educators across North Yorkshire

As specialists in bereavement and mental health support, our Just ‘B’ Children and Young People’s Team offers specialist training to schools, community groups and organisations across North Yorkshire.

Our mental health training for educators is designed to offer the knowledge and practical tools leaders need to support children and young people, including:

  •     Supporting children through bereavement: We help teachers and community leaders understand the unique needs of grieving children and how to support them with the right sensitivity.
  •       Mental health first aid for schools: We assist in training educators to recognise mental health concerns and offer initial support to children and young people. We’ll help you understand how and when to make a referral.

·       Supporting emotional wellbeing: Our team trains yours in helping students build coping strategies for managing stress, anxiety, and other challenging emotions to ensure they feel safe and supported.

Whether you’re a community group facilitator or a primary school member of staff, our mental health training aims to be accessible and impactful. This ensures you can create a responsible and inclusive environment for each and every young person you are supporting.

However, be mindful that this resource is designed to support anyone working to make a positive impact in young people’s lives, not just educators.

There are many reasons why our training for teachers on mental health is worth your attention. With our charity, you can benefit from:

Extensive expertise

With over 15 years of experience providing this support across our community, we can deliver set or bespoke training sessions on supporting children and young people who are bereaved, as well as their understanding of bereavement as it develops. We understand the challenges educators face and provide practical and actionable training to suit a range of young people.

Flexible packages

We know that every school, community group, and organisation is unique. That’s why our charity offers various packages based on the emotional well-being needs of children and young people, such as anxiety, self-harm and low mood.

Costs start from £300 for a half-day and £600 for a full-day session, and we also offer Twilight sessions in school settings. This means you can always find an option best suited to your situation.

Ongoing support

After providing bereavement training for schools and community groups, we offer continuous support and resources to ensure your staff have everything they need to support students and young people in the long term.

Whether you have a question about overcoming specific self-care challenges or want to know more about useful resources for the classroom, we can help guide you to make and sustain positive changes.
