Just ‘B’ comments on introduction of mental health offer to NHS 111

On the introduction of mental health support to the NHS 111 offer, Clare Schmidt, our charity’s Director of Client Services, said:

“We’re pleased the NHS has expanded its NHS 111 operation to cover mental health services, which will provide a solid support base for people with mental health and emotional wellbeing needs nationally, and here in North Yorkshire.

“As a specialist bereavement and emotional wellbeing service, Just ‘B’ is ready to step up and support this development across the area we serve.

“However, through signposting to specialist services from NHS 111, this new service could create additional need for independent charitable providers like ourselves. Where this is the case, we need recognition from the NHS of the role specialist independent providers and charities play, as well as access to NHS funding to meet the growing mental health needs of our communities with our expert support.”
